A little bit about me

I’m Lauren, a wife and mum of two, a four year old little girl and a ten month old baby boy. After having my eldest daughter, I made the decision not to return to my full time job. As I needed something flexible- mainly due to childcare, you may recognise me from when I ran LJ Bakes & Balloons and more recently, By Lauren Nails up until I started my maternity leave with my son.

After having my son last year, a baby who has a severe cows milk allergy and for this reason, it’s been a rocky few months! I needed to do something I enjoyed and so I found myself gravitating back towards baking.

I then discovered cake sheds all over Instagram and Tik Tok, and the idea for The Cake Hut Bridgend was born!
